Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging

Luminest Racial Injustice Statement

Events unfolding in the United States in 2020 have left us all reeling. From the unprecedented pandemic, to the murder of George Floyd and others, to the 40 million unemployed, these times are something we hope to never experience again.

These events have altered the way of life for each and every one of us. The recent deaths of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, Rayshard Brooks and others is most troubling. Like many of us, we are deeply pained by the suspicion, harsh treatment, and killings of our Black Americans. The long standing history of violence and systemic racism weighs heavy on the minds of all of us. Our country needs to come to terms with our failed progress on race relations, recognizing inequities and disparities in all aspects of our society.

Luminest is committed to enacting change to ensure this company acknowledges systemic racism by reviewing our policies and practices to ensure fairness to all we serve. Luminest has an increased responsibility as housing providers and professionals. We will rise to meet each new challenge with fresh ideas and firm determination. We must seek housing opportunities and solutions that address racial and economic inequities faced by our nation, and communities. Our mission to “building stronger neighborhoods, better homes, and brighter futures” is now more critical than ever.
