Luminest Community Development is excited to announce that Governor Tom Wolf and the Department of Community and Economic Development has granted $100,000 to the Franklin County Commissioners to support Luminest Community Development!  Luminest’s status as a Certified DCED Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) allows eligibility for these funds as Luminest is serving as the developer for a HOME-funded First-Time Homebuyer project in Waynesboro, Franklin County.  These funds will go toward a project which, in cooperation with the Borough of Waynesboro, will take two condemned properties and replace them with two brand new homes.   These homes will be sold in a way that makes them affordable to two families whose income is below the area median and who might not otherwise be able to afford their own first home.    Luminest is excited to think about the changes that can come to neighborhoods as well as families with intentional effort and great cooperation.  A special thanks to the Borough of Waynesboro, the Franklin County Commissioners and their team, the DCED, and the Governor’s office.  We look forward to beginning construction later this year and finding those two new First-Time Home Buyers!
